any post in the Registry: these reports were contained in ry

letters of 28th. November, 1908, and 23rd. March, 1909.

I regret that I must now inform Your Excel-

-lency that in my opinion Mr. Melbourne is wholly unfit from

any point of view to undertake Registry work, even were it that

of Junior Deputy Registrar. His appointment would involve

serious inconvenience to the Judges, as he is unable to afford

assistance which they have a right to expect from
